The United Broilers Raisers Association of the Philippines has recently commented on the price adjustments of goods in the impact of TRAIN. They say that no adjustments on the price of broilers will be made as of now.
UBRA will absorb the increase in tax as much as they can. This is according to their president, Elias Inciong. However, soon they might pass the costs to the consumers.
He said that poultry raisers should not be affected but only if their cleaning kits are gasoline powered.
The Bureau of Animal Industry said that the impact of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion will not be felt immediately as their are still old stocks in the market before the TRAIN is implemented.
Department of Agriculture said that they would introduce policies as guide as soon as the higher price is felt.
“Right now there is no definite policy yet to help stakeholders because it will affect consumers, but the DA will come up with a policy to help stakeholders and livestock raisers,” said by the Bureau of Animal Industry.
