An eight-foot metal chicken was recently stolen in front of Helen’s Hot Chicken, a new restaurant set to open next month in Portland, Tennessee.
Emmett Carter, the owner of the restaurant, said the giant chicken was placed in the entrance to advertise her new business.
The incident happened at around 2:20 p.m. on Valentine’s Day with thieves wearing a mask and a hoodie caught in security cameras stealing the big metal chicken. The giant chicken is called “Toot,” a childhood nickname of the owner’s son.
Carter is hopeful that someone with information about the thieves would contact the police. If the giant chicken wouldn’t be recovered, she is planning to replace it with another one with the aim of making it a landmark in the community.
