Should You Cut Off the Chicken Comb?

Simple answer, depending on your preference. 

For poultry farmers, they actually don’t care on the chicken’s comb as they are after the productivity. It is a symbol of how beautiful a rooster is. Beautiful comb would attract hens.

For pet owners, they will just take care of it for a healthier pet.

For cockfight enthusiasts, they should.

Cockfight enthusiasts think that cutting off their chicken’s comb would improve performance of their game fowls. It will also lessen their weigh in fights, which would make them better warriors. Add to that that it would spare them from bloody fight if a knife hits their comb.

The main function of the comb is to act like a skin, they release heat through it and maintain their temperature. Removing it would need adjustment for them to acclimatize.
