The Provincial Veterinary Office has announced the allotment of P40 million for poultry development projects. It is part of the P393 million budget of the Provincial Development Fund.
Programs includes agro-tourism development, expansion of multiplier farms, Provincial Genetic Improvement Program, hatchery development, artificial insemination program, and upgrading of farm facilities.
“These interventions are also geared at providing marketing and infrastructure support to boost animal resiliency amid climate change,” Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said.
The office aims to improve poultry industry in Negros Occidental with several projects launching this year.
Several events are also in line for this year. “We are now working on completing the construction of animal hub, including its bleachers and pens in time for the Silver Panaad sa Negros Festival in April,” Decena added.
