The average retail price of dressed chicken has declined from P148.75 per kg to P145.42 per kg. This was according to the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).
“The supply is increasing so the price is expected to decline. This is seen in the lower inventory of chicken in local cold storages,” BAI Assistant Director Simeon Amurao said.
He also claims, “The price could go down further by March if local raisers have totally resumed normal loading stocks.”
Data says that the current inventory of dressed-chicken is at 17,200 metric tons, higher than last week’s 15,300.
The data was released by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).
