Poultry Union Suggests to Defer VAT for Feed and Chickens

To lower the price of poultry feed, the Union of Poultry Breeders of Armenia has proposed the removal of VAT to grain food and chickens for poultry plants.

This was raised by the Chairman of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Armenia, Sergey Stepanyan.

Guests from Russia, Ukraine, and other countries attended the event.

Armenia imports huge amount of poultry feeds which is the main expense of poultry plants. Mr. Stepanyan said that by paying the VAT during the sale, this will free floating funds and facilitate the production.

”We proposed the idea at the Ministry of Agriculture. We were told that this may become possible after 2018. It would be fine, since it is impossible to imagine the production security of any country without eggs and meat,” he said.
