Poultry industry stakeholders are not concerned by recent outbreak of bird flu at Dasarahalli in the northern part of Bengaluru in the State of Karnataka in India.
“The bird flu was reported in the country birds and not in broilers. There is no cause for concern,” said officials of the Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association, the apex body of the organized poultry players in the State.
But they readily admitted that there would be a temporary and marginal dip in sales of poultry products in and around the affected region.
A team of two experts to assist Karnataka had been deployed to assist the affected areas.
“The situation is fully under control and that there are no further reports from Karnataka or any other part of the country,” the Agriculture Ministry said.
