The agricultural ministry of Poland has announced that it will help poultry producers on their financial woes as the country continues to battle with bird flu.
Deputy Agriculture Minister Jacek Bogucki said that farmers within the 10-kilometer radius of H5N8 virus outbreaks are eligible to government aid if they failed to sell their poultry products due to restrictions.
Those who were forced to cull their birds will receive other support.
Millions of birds were already culled as part of precautionary measures, mostly in Lubuskie voivodship in Poland’s west. Some 33 outbreaks have been reported in the country so far.
