Pakistan Calls for Poultry Exemption from Load Shedding

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is seeking the exemption of poultry from load shedding, which is administered by the Ministry of Water and Power.

LCCI President Abdul Basit is concerned with sustaining the bird lives. With huge losses are now felt by members of the poultry industry, the food supply of the public is at stake.

“Poultry farmers, hatchery owners and poultry processing plant owners are suffering huge losses due to heavy loadshedding, which lasts from 10 hours in one go from 6pm to 4am,” Basit stated.

He added that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry supply chicken less than the market price to the Ramazan Bazaars.

The government has not yet answered the request of the poultry association.
