Max’s to Open San Diego Branch in 2017

Max’s Restaurant, a popular chicken eatery in the Philippines, will open a branch in San Diego, California in the first half of 2017.

It will be located at 2127 Olympic Parkway, Suite 1001 in Chula Vista. The Filipino food chain signed an area development deal with the goal of opening three restaurants in San Diego.

Founded in 1945, Max’s has more than 200 outposts around the world. It is also scouting potential locations in Mira Mesa and Escondido/San Marcos.

Max’s is known for its signature marinated and fried chicken, befitting its catch line “The House That Fried Chicken Built.” It also serves traditional Filipino dishes like chicken adobo, crispy pata and lumpia.

Leading the way to bring Max’s in San Diego is Jay Montenegro, owner of Montenegro Group Real Estate, along with Pat Geary of ECP Commercial.

San Diegans currently drive two-plus hours to the nearest Max’s restaurant in Glendale just to satisfy their Max’s food cravings.

“We are very excited to have helped Max’s find a home in Chula Vista. Chula Vista is a fast growing, vibrant city and one of many locations in San Diego that have a big appetite for Max’s delicious dishes,” Montenegro said.

“Soon they (San Diegans) can enjoy the famous dishes in their very own backyard and we are working even harder to give them two more nearby locations to choose from.”
