An investigation found out that the P3.5 million poultry dispersal project that distributes chicken to beneficiaries are marred with irregularities.
It was reported that distributed chickens are lighter by 300 grams. The 2,875 chicks were bought from the supplier Foodwealth Agrovet, according to a report of lawyer Joan Montaño, head of the city government’s internal audit office.
The beneficiaries also complained of dead and weak chicks delivered to them. The local government will be investigating this issue.
It is part of the P10.37-million Integrated Community Food Production Program of the National Anti-Poverty Commission.
The project intends to distribute a total of 17,000 chickens.
