Enterprise Foods, Rainbow Chicken to Face Murder Charges

Andile Mngxitama, leader of Black First Land First (BLF), believes the listeriosis outbreak that has claimed as many as 180 lives amid about 1,000 confirmed infections can be categorized as murder.

He tweeted on Monday (March 5) that his organization would lay murder charges against Enterprise Foods and Rainbow Chicken.

Mngxitama claimed that the companies were complicit in a corporate cover-up, describing their alleged actions as “premeditated murder for profits.”

The health department found that Enterprise Foods’ biggest processing plant in Limpopo was the source of the present outbreak of listeria. Rainbow Chicken Limited products sampled in Soweto were also found to be contaminated with the same strain of listeria.
