The Department of Agriculture seeks to develop the poultry industry by investing a whooping P5 billion pesos, which will fund all local government units with poultry economy.
But the Congress has yet to approve this proposal of department for the year 2018.
“For small municipalities, we will provide them with small-scale slaughterhouses worth P3 million each. We will also provide help for triple A slaughterhouses, say for example in Davao, we proposed P80 million for New Calinan slaughterhouse,” said by Enrico Garzon of the Bureau of Animal Industry.
They would also help the backyard growers with education on information dissemination and other biosecurity measures. This will eliminate smuggling as the community will rely on backyard growers.
