When you go to cockpit arenas, you would experience the high spirit of noise and that irritates most of the non-participants. Yet the noise is what makes the fight an exciting place and let them to understand each other.

However, there are things that is hard for them to understand when uttered. But coming from the non-participant, what are kristos, the so called bet taker in the Philippines, are trying to tell?

Following this line are the terminologies of the kristos and its meaning.

Meron – The meron is in advantage – 100 tama 100 or same.

Wala – The ‘wala’ is in advantage – 100 tama 100 or same.

The word ‘meron’ and the ‘wala’ are the two wings of team in the cockpit. Logically the following numbers based on bets are examples to compare the ‘Meron’ and the ‘Wala’ or the ‘llamado’ (in advantage) and ‘dehado’ (losing side):

Lobe – 80 tama 90; 200 tama 225; 400 tama 450; 800 tama 900

Posyam – 90 tama 100; 450 tama 500; 900 tama 1000; 1800 tama 2000

Lo-dyis – 80 tama 100; 200 tama 250; 400 tama 500; 800 tama 1000)
