China Bans Live Poultry Trading

In order to prevent the further spreading of bird flu virus, China has banned the movement of live poultry in Changsha City, Hunan on March 17.

Hunan follows the banning of live poultry movement in Guangdong, Sichuan, and Zhejiang provinces.

Experts say that the month of February and March are the best time to prevent the virus from spreading as the risk of infection rise up during winter and spring seasons.

Data from February shows that 24 infections and five fatalities were reported in Hunan province.

Meanwhile, the National Health and Family Planning Commission has reported 79 human deaths in whole China as of January 2017.

China reported its first bird flu in March 2013.
