The chickens – named Blossom and Clucky – entered the hall with knitted jackets to match the bridesmaids’ dresses with little pockets to safeguard the rings.
The couple adopted the chickens from the British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT). Ky and Lizzie first adopted hens through BHWT in 2012 and now have 21 hens in total.
They named the seven tables at their wedding breakfast after the first seven hens they adopted – Alice, Eve, Fhenton, Clara, Atila the Hen, Elsie May and Squiffy.
The wedding was chicken-themed up to the wedding cake, which was made with free-range eggs laid by their own hens.
“Our wedding was perfect, perfectly different and I am so glad we were able to share it with our girls whom we are so passionate about,” Lizzie said.
