Pet Sitters International’s 2016 state of the industry survey revealed that chicken sitting is growing in popularity.
The survey results showed 85 percent of pet sitters who offer livestock care are now offering care for chickens.
In a similar survey two years ago, only 58 percent of PSI member pet sitters who offer livestock care said that they are offering care for chickens and barnyard fowl.
Overall, 26 percent of sitters currently offer livestock care.
“As the backyard chicken movement continues to spread, we’ll likely see the number of pet sitters offering this service increase even more,” said Beth Stultz, PSI’s director of marketing and education.
