A group of paleontologists in China discovered fossilized skeletons of feathered, chicken-like dinosaur.
They were reportedly found in Liaoning and estimated to be 125 million years old. The pre-historic animal is about three feet long and named as Jianianhualong tengi.
Findings say that it has asymmetrical feathers that could help it fly.
“Asymmetrical feathers have been associated with flight capability, but are also found in species that do not fly, and their appearance was a major event in feather evolution,” the authors write in the study.
