Bulacan Tightens Defense Against Bird Flu

The Provincial Government of Bulacan is doing strict precautionary measures and information dissemination to ensure that the province remains bird flu-free.

Although there is no reported case of avian influenza in Bulacan, the Provincial Veterinary Office, together with the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry and the Department of Health, held random blood sampling and testing to poultry farms in the province.

Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado also moved to intensify the surveillance of avian influenza virus among poultry.

He said that the cooperation and support of poultry owners by doing proper poultry raising and reporting bird flu cases are essential in keeping the province free from bird flu.
