Brazilian government has suspended the importation of poultry products to the European Union after finding out that one of its poultry company is infected with salmonella contamination.
Agriculture ministry said that 10 production plants are found to be contaminated, which brought the needed suspension.
They are looking for the possible evasion of safety checks in the plants as cause of the contamination.
“A technical mission will go to the EU, as the next step, to offer all the necessary clarifications,” the ministry’s statement said. “Soon after, once all the questions have been answered, (we) will restart (exporting again),” ministry said.
