Brazil Chicken Exports Up

The Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA) reported a three percent increase in Brazil’s chicken exports this year despite a significant drop in November.

Brazil exported 4.022 million tons of chickens from January to November this year while 3.904 million tons were exported in the first 11 months of 2015.

Making it more impressive is the fact that the country recorded only 328.3 thousand tons of shipment in November, 15.5 percent less than last year’s November shipment of 488.7 thousand tons.

Ricardo Santin, ABPA’s vice president of markets, blamed the massive drop to market adjustments and the suspension of the authorization of five plants that export to China.
