Allen Harim, LLC plans to build a hatchery in Dagsboro, Delaware with a capacity to set 2.5 million eggs per week.
The chicken production and processing firm’s new hatchery is valued at $22 million. It will be placed on Allen Harim’s 19.84 acre property on Nine Foot Road and will replace two older hatcheries located in Seaford and Dagsboro.
“Our ‘No Antibiotic Ever’ policy requires us to provide the healthiest start possible to each and every bird, and this new facility – the most technologically-advanced hatchery on Delmarva – will deliver that,” said Joe Moran, the company’s president and CEO.
Just recently, Allen Harim reopened a newly renovated chicken processing facility in Harbeson, Delaware. The company invested $30 million in the renovation project and another $10 million is expected to be spent by the end of 2017.
