Authorities announced that two men were arrested in connection with a fire caused by a suspected gas explosion at a Dixy Chicken restaurant in Birmingham late Saturday (March 31).
“The men aged 26 and 28 self-presented at hospital early this morning with minor burn injuries, and were subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson,” said a spokesman for West Midlands Police.
Four fire crews attended the takeaway outlet on Alcester Road South in Kings Heath. The crews had to use a hose and two main jets to tackle the blaze, thought to have started as a result of a gas explosion.
Emergency crews attended the scene at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
No one was injured while two people were evacuated from the above flats before firefighters and paramedics arrived.
